EN - I'm Laura Chiarello, aka ShyneLC, and I'm born and I live in Monferrato.
I got the graduation at the Art School of Casale Monferrato and the Masters in Base Photography and Reportage at the Academy "John Kaverdash" in Milan.
I began painting as a child, but it's after the high school that I undertake a path with a personal style inspired mainly to Art Noveau, Celtic Art and Pop Art. Since 2000 I've exhibited my works in several solo and group exhibitions in Casale Monferrato, Vercelli, Torino, Cavagnolo, Trino, Cereseto and Villamiroglio.
Occasionally I make restorations of chalk votive statues and cribs for churches and privates.
As photographer I'm following a path about black and white graphic images of natural details and I have recently approached the printing of linocuts and mail art and I create embroidery patterns for cross stitch as a freelance.

IT - Sono Laura Chiarello, aka ShyneLC, e sono nata e vivo in Monferrato.
Ho conseguito il diploma al Liceo Artistico di Casale Monferrato e i Master in Fotografia di Base e di Reportage all'Accademia "John Kaverdash" di Milano.
Inizio a dipingere da piccola, ma è dopo il liceo che intraprendo un percorso con uno stile personale ispirato principalmente all'Art Noveau, all'arte celtica e alla Pop Art. Dal 2000 ho esposto le mie opere in diverse personali e collettive a Casale Monferrato, Vercelli, Torino, Cavagnolo, Trino, Cereseto e Villamiroglio.
Occasionalmente mi occupo di restaurare statue votive e presepi in gesso per chiese e privati.
Come fotografa sto seguendo un percorso di studio di immagini grafiche in bianco e nero di dettagli e da poco mi sono avvicinata alla stampa di linoleografie e all'arte postale e realizzo schemi per ricamo a punto croce come free lance.

EN - The favorite subjects for my paintings are figures, but not real portraits, simply "models", physical expression of an idea.
My personal painting style shows some similarities with the works of the Pop-art artists, like Roy Liechtenstein, for the use ofd black lines to define the figures, as in the comics, but with roots more linked to the Art Nouveau period and its famous artist Alphonse Mucha, with a contemporary touch of bright colors and modern subjects.
To paint I uses especially the Ecoline, liquid watercolors by Royal Talens, with much more bright and intense colors than watercolors, almost like china inks, but with the characteristic transparency of water colors, and sometimes also acrylics, mediums and other materials.
Supports used are almost exclusively papers, in the early period paper Fabriano Murillo, then 100% cotton paper, first Fabriano Esportazione or Artistico 640gr and 300gr, but now only sheets of Canson Aquarelle Arches 640gr or 300gr HP, with some exceptions of acrylic on canvas or fabrics.
The original paintings on paper are currently not for sale.
In the ARTSHOP you can buy and order exclusive prints on paper of my artworks, hand-signed with author's stamp and certificate of authenticity, and also prints on canvas and more by request.

IT - I soggetti prediletti per i miei dipinti sono figure, ma mai veri ritratti, semplicemente "modelli", espressione fisica di un'idea.
Il mio stile personale mostra alcune similitudini con le opere di artisti della Pop-art come Roy Liechtenstein, per via dell'uso di linee nere per definire le figure, come nei fumetti, ma con radici più legate al periodo Art Nouveau e al suo famoso artista Alphonse Mucha, con il tocco contemporaneo di colori vivaci e di soggetti moderni.
Per dipingere utilizzo in particolare gli Ecoline, acquarelli liquidi della Royal Talens con colori molto più brillanti e intensi degli acquerelli, quasi simili ad inchiostri di china, ma con la caratteristica trasparenza dei colori ad acqua, e a volte anche acrilici, mediums e altri materiali.
I supporti utilizzati sono quasi esclusivamente carta, nei primi anni la carta Fabriano Murillo, poi carta 100% cotone, inizialmente Fabriano Esportazione e Artistico 640gr e 300gr, ora solo fogli Canson Aquarelle Arches 640gr o 300gr HP, con qualche eccezione di acrilici su tela o tessuti.
Al momenti i dipinti originali su carta non sono in vendita.

EN - Curiosity for details has led me to experiment with taking photographs through the creative use of black and white two-tone photographic filters, taking advantage of the graphic style of lines, shapes, lights and shadows these filters emphasizes to create suggestive, evocative or sometimes even ironic images.
This graphic-photographic experimentation has in particular been directed towards natural details, especially it has found a privileged way of expression in the grains of the trunks, in the leaves, in the changing shapes of the water and in the geometries of the Monferrato landscape. So 4 different main themes were born, that you can discover in the PORTFOLIO:
- WOOD - graphisms and suggestions of the wood grain.
- WATER - forms, reflections and games of water.
- LIFE - details of flora and fauna.
- LAND - geometries of Monferrato's landscape.
In the ARTSHOP is possible to buy and order prints on different sizes, hand-signed with the author's stamp and certificate of authenticity.
It's possible to realize also prints of other photos by request.

IT - La curiosità per i dettagli mi ha portato a sperimentare lo scatto di fotografie tramite l'utilizzo creativo di filtri fotografici bitonali in bianco e nero, sfruttando lo stile grafico di linee, forme, luci e ombre che enfatizzano questi filtri per creare immagini suggestive, evocative o a volte anche ironiche.
Questa sperimentazione grafico-fotografica è stata in particolare rivolta verso i dettagli naturali, in special modo ha trovato una strada d'espressione privilegiata nelle venature dei tronchi, nelle foglie, nelle mutevoli forme dell'acqua e nelle geometrie del paesaggio monferrino. Sono nate quindi 4 diverse tematiche principali, che potete scoprire nel PORTFOLIO:
- LEGNO - grafismi e suggestioni delle venature del legno.
- ACQUA - forme, riflessi e giochi dell'acqua.
- VITA - dettagli di flora e fauna.
- TERRA - geometrie del paesaggio monferrino.

EN - Recently I start to experiment linoleography, the making of print from linocuts, cuts on linoleum, trying to express also throw this technique her own figurative style.
To unreleased subjects, with prints in one or more colors, come together linocuts reproducing some paintings re-elaborated in monochrome.
Another form of artistic expression to which I've recently dedicated myself to is the Mail Art , the exchange of works of art in postcard format and/or participation in thematic projects organized around the world. For these works, painting is often combined with collage and material insertions that allow new expressiveness and experimentation.

IT - Recentemente mi sono avvicinata alla linoleografia, la realizzazione di stampe da incisioni su linoleum, cercando di esprimere anche attraverso questa tecnica il mio stile figurativo.
Ai soggetti inediti si accostano incisioni che riproducono alcuni dei dipinti rielaborati in monocromo.
Un'altra forma d'espressione artistica a cui mi dedico da poco è l'Arte postale, o Mail Art, lo scambio di opere d'arte in formato cartolina e/o la partecipazione a progetti a tema organizzati in tutto il mondo. Per queste opere la pittura viene spesso abbinata a collage e inserimenti materici che permettono nuove espressivita' e sperimentazioni.
Le cartoline realizzate per diversi progetti in tutto il mondo sono pubblicate e illustrate nel blog SHYNELC MAIL ART.

EN - I like sometimes to create patterns for cross-stitch inspired to Celtic art (especially the Gospel manuscripts like the Book of Kells or the Book of Durrow and the Pictish carved stones), to Art Nouveau and motives and borders inspired by "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" Movie Trilogies.
All the patterns are unique and original, created starting from the realization of the designs and then elaborated with the PCStitchPro software in the format of the embroidery patterns.
The patterns are available as PDF files for digital download on the ShyneLC's Patterns Shop on Etsy and on the site Arts and Designs.

IT - Mi piace a volte realizzare schemi per punto croce ispirati all'arte celtica (soprattutto prendendo spunto dagli evangeliari miniati come il Libro di Kells o il Libro di Durrow e dalle pietre incise dei Pitti), all'Art Nouveau e bordi e decori ispirati alle trilogie cinematografiche de "Il Signore degli Anelli" e "Lo Hobbit".
Tutti gli schemi sono unici e originali, creati partendo dalla realizzazione dei designs e successivamente elaborati con il software PCStitchPro nel formato degli schemi per ricamo.
