Walking and Riding

Of the more than 25 km of roads of the town, only a portion is paved, the dominance is represented by gravelled roads and dirt paths that climbs the hills, in a woody and fresh contexts. Over time, and because of the abandonment of crops in decades, it's increasingly more difficult to maintain the trails in efficiency, in some cases the best time for hiking is from autumn to early spring, when vegetation is at rest and allows the transit even in sections where in the summer it would be difficult to pass. Really impressive are also walks in the snow, in the cold winters. Some paths are smoothly throughout the year, such as the hillside path on the Monte Bric or Monte Croce. Many of the trails can be covered on foot, on horseback, by bike or by mountain bike. In walks you can enjoy a range of tree species, among which there is a predominance of locust trees, which flourish in the spring of their pink and white clusters. The wood floor is home for many flowers, especially in spring, like violets, primroses, pulmonaria, and along streams, anemones and epatica. Follows the wild roses, accompanied by rare and bright wild iris, along with dandelion and then poppies in summer. The fauna is rich and, although shy, it is not unusual to find, in the most tranquil paths, pheasants and other wildlife. Widespread reptiles such as snakes and vipers, around the houses, so you need to be especially careful.
